Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Named from Foraker, Foraker quadrangle, Osage Co., central northern OK. Forms the rim of Foraker Canyon, and is prominent along line of bluffs in eastern part of Foraker quadrangle (Heald, 1916).
Type section stated to be near Foraker, Osage Co., central northern OK (Mudge and Burton, 1959).
