Quaternary (early Pleistocene)
Crops out 2 to 3 mi downstream from Lake Tahoe outlet, Truckee area, northeastern CA. Named from settlement of Fir Crags, [in sec. 3, T. 15 N., R. 16 E., Tahoe City 7.5-min quadrangle, Placer Co., northeastern CA] (Birkeland, 1962).
