Type section: Farm Creek section, [along Farm Creek in Farmdale Recreation Area, just south of East Peoria], in NE/4 SW/4 SE/4 sec. 30, T. 26 N., R. 3 W., [approx. Lat. 40 deg. 40 min. 40 sec. N., Long. 89 deg. 29 min. 28 sec. W., western edge Washington 7.5-min quadrangle], Tazewell Co., western IL. Named from town of Farmdale, Tazewell Co., western IL, [about 1.5+/- mi southwest of type section] (Leighton and Willman, 1950).
