Type locality: just west of Falls Mills Station, where it makes falls across Bluestone River, [approx. Lat. 37 deg. 16 min. 32 sec. N., Long. 81 deg. 18 min. 42 sec. W., Bramwell 15-min quadrangle], Tazewell Co., southwestern VA (Reger, 1926).
