Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Along Drury Creek, in secs. 33 and 34, T. 10 S., R. 1 W., Carbondale quadrangle, Jackson Co., southwestern IL. Named from excellent exposures along Drury Creek, particularly in bluffs south of Makanda (Lamar, 1925).
