Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Appears 10 mi north of Irasburg, Orleans Co., northeastern VT (Richardson, 1919).
About 10 mi north of Craftsbury, Orleans Co., northeastern VT, near contact of Cambrian and Ordovician terranes; main road from Newport to South Troy passes over this terrane [and crosses northern part of Coventry Twp.] (Richardson, 1929).
