East of Cottondale, in sec. 25, T. 21 S., R. 9 W., Tuscaloosa Co., west-central AL (Monroe and others, 1946).
Named from town about 6 mi east of Tuscaloosa where several exposures are present along Southern RR and nearby county roads (Conant and Monroe, 1945).
