Type section: segment B, [beginning at about 9,800 ft elevation, about 2 mi southwest of Lincoln Peak, approx. Lat. 38 deg. 51 min. 41 sec. N., Long. 114 deg. 18 min. 23 sec. W., Wheeler Peak 7.5-min quadrangle, White Pine Co., western NV] (Drewes and Palmer, 1957, see fig. 2).
Named from Corset Spring [now unnamed or no longer exists], northeast flank of peak 11,064 [now labeled peak 11,001], 2 mi east of Lincoln Peak; [in area btw. North Fork and South Fork Big Wash, in T. 12 N., R. 69 E., western edge Garrison 15-min quadrangle (1951 ed.), Nevada National Forest (now Humboldt National Forest), White Pine Co., western NV] (Drewes and Palmer, 1957, see fig. 1).
