Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: exposures along Rio Anasco near Route 119 bridge (Puerto Rico Meter Grid System 94,620 E.; 49,270 N.), along road that follows boundary between Barrios Purisima Concepcion and Buena Vista (97,380 E.; 47,420 N. to 98,265 E.; 48,400 N.), Municipio de las Marias, and in Quebrada Velez (98,170 E.; 46,200 N. to 98,460 E.; 47,570 N.), San Sebastian quadrangle, northwestern Puerto Rico (McIntyre and others, 1970).
