Type area: broad transect (about 40 km wide) extending for about 80 km across the Coast Mountains near Juneau, AK, from Douglas Island on the south-southwest to the International Boundary with British Columbia, Canada, on the north-northeast. Named from the Coast Mountains physiographic province (Brew and others, 1995).
