Type section (=Glenmore Member type section): DePere site, north-facing exposure in gravel pit about 100 m northwest of large radio tower, north of County Trunk Highway X, near top of Silurian escarpment, in southeast corner of sec. 38, T. 23 N., R. 20 E., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 24 min. 35 sec. N., Long. 88 deg. 00 min. 12 sec. W.], eastern edge DePere 7.5-min quadrangle, Brown Co., eastern WI (Mickelson and others, 1984; Syverson and others, 2011).
Named from the city of Chilton, Chilton 7.5-min quadrangle, Calumet Co., eastern WI; name credited to David M. Mickelson (Mickelson and others, 1984; Syverson and others, 2011).

(1) Greenleaf quarry, on north side of WI Highway 96, 0.4 mi (0.7 km) east of Greenleaf, in SE/4 SW/4 sec. 4, T. 21 N., R. 20 E., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 18 min. 48 sec. N., Long. 88 deg. 04 min. 54 sec. W.], Greenleaf 7.5-min quadrangle, Brown Co., eastern WI (=Branch River Member type section); and
(2) Brillion quarry, in SW/4 SW/4 SW/4 sec. 24, T. 20 N., R. 20 E., [Lat. 44 deg. 11 min. 08 sec. N., Long. 88 deg. 03 min. 36 sec. W.], Brillion 7.5-min quadrangle, Calumet Co., eastern WI.
