Type section: quarry 1,000 to 1,500 ft southwest of ovens in Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park, in SW/4 NW/4 sec. 36, T. 14 N., R. 63 E., east side of southern Egan Range, White Pine Co., eastern NV (Hose and Blake, 1976).
Reference section: about 8 mi north of type section, on north side of Sawmill Canyon, in secs. 22 and 23, T. 15 N., R. 13 E., White Pine Co., eastern NV (Hose and Blake, 1976).
