Type section: first ridge north of intersection of East Branch Stream and Great Northern Paper Company road, from Pillsbury Pond to Snake Pond. Named from outcrop at Chandler Pond, Spider Lake quadrangle, Piscataquis Co., north-central ME (Hall, 1970).
