Summary:

Named as a formation in East Branch Group. Named for Chandler Pond, Spider Lake quad, Piscataquis Co., north-central ME. Consists of conglomerate with gray-red and yellow-green sandstone and mudstone. Thickness is greater than 120 m. Divided into informal upper and lower tongues. Intertongues with Carpenter Pond Formation; underlies Seboomook Formation. Age is Late Silurian and Early Devonian.
