Type section: crest of Chamisal Ridge, northeast to confluence of Robinson Canyon and east tributary, northwest to Carmel Valley, in sec. 25 and 26, T. 16 S., R. 1 E., Monterey 15-min quadrangle, Rancho Potrero de San Carlos land grant, Point Sur 15-min quadrangle (Bowen, 1965).
