Cerro Toledo Rhyolite of Tewa Group (NM*)
Cerro Toledo B ash bed (informal) (KS*-recognized locally in Meade Co.)
Cerro Toledo X ash bed (informal) (TX*-recognized locally in Briscoe Co.)
Ash beds are downwind equivalents of Cerro Toledo Rhyolite.

For informal usage, the rank or lithologic term should not be capitalized.

Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: on northeast side of Valles Caldera in steep forested northwestward-trending ridge, the Sierra de Toledo, btw. Rito de los Indos and Valle de los Posos, Los Alamos area, north-central NM. Named from Cerro Toledo, a peak in the Sierra de los Valles, northwest of the Valles Caldera (Griggs and Hem, 1964).
