Type section: in roadside ditch and in stripping, above an abandoned quarry on west slope of Cave Hill, about 4 mi northeast of Rudemont, in SE/4 SW/4 NW/4 sec. 3, T. 10 S., R. 7 E., Rudemont quadrangle, Saline Co., southeastern IL (Swann, 1963).
