Named from exposures in Busby Canyon, on northeastern slope of Dutch Mountain, [in T. 7 S. (unsurveyed), R. 18 W.], Gold Hill district, Gold Hill 15-min quadrangle [1955 ed.], Tooele Co., western UT (Nolan, 1930; see also Nolan's USGS Prof. Paper 177, 1935).
