First described in vicinity of Brownstown, Sevier Co., AR (Hill, 1888; 1894; 1901).
"The village of Brownstown, Sevier County, Arkansas, is located on top of Brownstown marl as thus restricted by Stephenson and Dane" (see GNC remarks, Wilmarth, 1938, p. 276).
