Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: Tonnie Creek, from 4,500 ft S. 47 deg. E. of Tonnie Peak, continuing upstream for 1,500 ft, Iniskin Peninsula, Cook Inlet region, southwestern AK. Named from Bowser Creek, which drains southeastern part of Iniskin Peninsula (Detterman, 1963).
