Quaternary (early Pleistocene)


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Named from occurrence on and in vicinity of Boca Ridge, Truckee area, north of Lake Tahoe, northeastern CA. Flow on Boca Ridge projects eastward across Lower Truckee Canyon to a flow along west flank of Carson Range (Birkeland, 1963).
