Type locality: Benton Spring, in T. 9 N., R. 34 E., Gabbs Valley Range, Mineral Co., NV (Ekren and others, 1980).
Reference locality: all 3 constituent formations exposed about 2 km northwest of Calavada Summit, in T. 9 N., R. 35 E., on north side of U.S. Highway 23, [approx. Lat. 38 deg. 36 min. N., Long. 118 deg. 08 min. W.], Gabbs Valley Range (Ekren and others, 1980).
