Greatest thickness and probably best exposure on south bluff of Canadian River in sec. 15, T. 5 N., R. 6 E. Named from exposures around Belle City, Seminole Co., central OK (Morgan, 1924).
Type locality: village of Belle City, in SW/4 sec. 35, T. 8 N., R. 7 E., Seminole Co., central OK (Tanner, 1956).
