Type locality stated to be at Kettle Top, Sierra Co., southwestern NM. Ash Canyon is southeast of Elephant Butte Reservoir, about 3 mi east of Truth or Consequences, Sierra Co., southwestern NM (Lozinsky, 1986).

Orogrande basin
