FORMATION STATUS (alphabetical): Harrison Member (SD), Monroe Creek Member (SD).

Tertiary (late Oligocene to early Miocene)*


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Name applied to formation because Arikaree Indians were at one time identified with area in which it is most largely developed (Darton, 1899).
