Type locality: exposures along Wagnon Mill Road, Apalachee 7.5-min quadrangle, and especially exposures at the falls on Jacks Creek, Morgan Co., GA. Named from exposures along Apalachee River (Higgins and others, 1988).

Piedmont-Blue Ridge province
