Type section: in cut at south end of tunnel on Illinois Central RR, about 0.5 mi southeast of Flatwoods, and 2.2 mi southeast of Allard College School, in SW/4 NW/4 NE/4 sec. 1, T. 13 S., R. 4 E., Brownsfield quadrangle, Johnson Co., southeastern IL (Swann, 1963).
