Named for exposures northeast of Horse Ridge and along the divide between Williamson Canyon and Old Deer Creek, T5S, Rs19 and 20E, Graham Co, AZ, Basin-and-Range province. Are mainly nondescript, green, gray, or grayish-purple massive, well-indurated, pyroclastic rocks containing some lava flows and flow breccias. Rocks lack flow layering or bedding. Are mainly tuffs agglomerates, tuffs, tuff breccias and subordinate lava flows and flow breccias. Lavas are porphyritic; most prominent phenocrystic mineral is hornblende. Forms subdued low rounded outcrops. Thickness not known accurately; may be about 2,500 ft. Overlies the Pinkard Formation (Late Cretaceous). Unconformably overlain by Horse Mountain Volcanics (new). The age may be Late Cretaceous or younger. Shown on geologic map as Cretaceous or Tertiary.

Is formation in Aravaipa area, Graham Co, AZ in Basin-and-Range province. Overlies Pinkard Formation (Cenomanian and Turonian) unconformably. At least 2,500 ft thick, and undoubtedly represent the unnamed volcanic and sedimentary unit of Willden (1964) in the Christmas area, Gila Co, AZ. Age is Late Cretaceous and (or) Tertiary.
