Summary:

Pg. 2274 (fig. 1), 2275. Stotler limestone of Wabaunsee group. Defined to include strata underlying Root shale (new) and overlying Pillsbury shale (new). Thickness ranges from 5 to 35 feet; average 14 feet. Includes (ascending) Dover limestone, Dry shale, and Grandhaven limestone members. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Virgilian).
Type section: in spillway and along south side of pond in SE/4 sec. 18, T. 16 S., R. 12 E., Lyon Co., about 2 mi west of Miller, east-central KS. Named from old Stotler PO which was in SW/4 sec. 10, T. 16 S., R. 13 E., east-central KS.
