Summary:

Named as upper of 2 members of Vaqueros Formation. Type locality designated as exposures in San Nicholas Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains, east-central Triunfo Pass quad, Los Angeles Co, CA. Consists of light-gray to bluish-gray sandstone, 150 m thick. Is thick-bedded to massive, cliff-forming, and fossiliferous. Conformably overlies Danielson Member (new) (Vaqueros Formation); conformably underlies Encinal Member (new) (Topanga Canyon Formation). Is early Miocene age.
