Mynot sandstone member of Pride Mountain formation named in southwestern Colbert Co., AL. Unit is composed of sandstone, shale, and siltstone. Maximum thickness about 30 ft at type locality. Thins eastward to a nonpersistent bed in eastern Colbert Co. by interfingering with the oolitic limestone of the underlying Sandfall member (new). Underlies Green Hill member (new). Age is Late Mississippian.

Mynot Sandstone Member of Pride Mountain Formation described in Tishomingo Co., MS. Unit is composed of thin- to medium-bedded sandstones, siltstones, and shales. Interval was included in the Southward Bridge Formation of Morse (1930) and is equivalent to the Cypress Sandstone of Butts (1926). Member is exposed in Cedar Creek and Bear Creek valleys of eastern Tishomingo Co., in secs. 20, 21, 28, and 29, T5S, R11E. The predominant lithology, thinly bedded sandstone, is locally calcareous and sparingly fossiliferous. Member contains medium-bedded sandstone in the lowermost intervals, and thin-bedded sandstone, shales and siltstones occupy the upper intervals. Unit is about 30 ft thick in eastern Tishomingo Co., although the entire thickness of the member is not exposed. Thins to a discontinuous sandstone bed in eastern Colbert Co., AL, its known easternmost extent. Underlies Green Hill Member and overlies Sandfall Member of Pride Mountain. Age is Late Mississippian (Chesterian).
