Summary:

Pg. 11. Minnies Gap Tongue of Rock Springs Formation of Mesaverde Group. Major littoral and shallow-marine sandstone benches in Rock Springs Formation have been named Chimney Rock Tongue, "Minnies Gaptl Tongue, Brooks Tongue, and McCourt Tongue. Present in eastern Utah and southwestern Wyoming. Age is Late Cretaceous.
Named for occurrence on north side of Lucerne Valley, eastern UT.
