Summary:
The Miller Creek Formation is here named in the Superior Lobe in WI. It contains the older Hanson Creek Member and the Douglas Member west of the Bayfield Peninsula. It consists of till, reddish clay sediments which have been called 'Red Clay', and offshore silt and clay beds. Sharply overlies the Copper Falls Formation; surface unit in the Superior lowland. Thickness ranges from 10 to 90 m. Age is Pleistocene (latest Wisconsinan) and Holocene.
