Summary:

Type locality: Mesa Peak, sec.24, T1S, R18W, Santa Monica Mountains, west central Malibu Beach quad, Los Angeles Co, CA. Consists of breccia containing angular fragments of volcanic rock in very coarse grained sandstone. Is 288 m thick. Is second youngest member (of 6) of Calabasas Formation. Conformably overlies Newell Sandstone Member (new) (Calabasas Formation); upper contact not exposed [or may unconformably underlies Modelo Formation]; in fault contact with Sespe and Topanga Canyon Formations. Is middle Miocene age.
