The Low-Water-Bridge Layered Gneiss is here named in the Sauras massif in the Blue Ridge in North Carolina. It represents country rock that was intruded by Grenville rocks It contains biotite-rich relict amphibolite facies assemblages and lacks granulite facies. Age is Middle Proterozoic.
