Summary:
Type area: Latigo Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains, east central Point Dume quad, Los Angeles Co, CA. Is third oldest member (of 6) of Calabasas Formation. Consists of sedimentary breccia with clasts of red-bed (Sespe) sandstone and fossiliferous (Vaqueros) sandstone. Is 91 m thick. Overlies Escondido Canyon Shale Member (new) (Calabasas Formation); intertongues with unnamed epiclastic volcanic breccia; underlies Solstice Canyon Tongue (new) (Conejo Volcanics). Is middle Miocene age.
