Summary:

Pg. 183. Radiometric (K-Ar) age on ash from unit is 10.0 Ma [old constant]. Small vertebrate fauna and gastropod fauna (identical to species found in Teewinot Formation of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; identified by D. Taylor) indicate age of Hemphillian (Pliocene) [current age for 10.0 Ma would be Clarendonian (late Miocene) (Berggren and others, 1985)].
Occurs on Stroud Claim near Hagerman, southwestern ID, 400 ft north and 1200 ft west of southeast corner sec. 34, T. 3 S., R. 13 E., Davis Mountain 15-min quadrangle, Gooding Co., ID. [Derivation of name not stated by authors, but probably named from Hole-in-the-Wall Cabin, Gooding Co., ID].
[Misprint: US geologic names lexicon (USGS Bull. 1350, p. 338) states locality is in Davis Mountain County quadrangle.]
