Pg. 93, 96. Haskell limestone, middle formation of Douglas group. Overlies Stranger formation and underlies Lawrence shale. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Virgil). [See under Douglas group, Moore, 1932. On p. 49 the Haskell limestone is described as consisting of 3 feet of bluish dense even limestone.]
Named from Haskell Institute, in Lawrence, eastern KS.

Pg. 146, 152+. Haskell limestone member of Stranger formation of Douglas group. Throughout much of outcrop it is bluish-gray blocky fine-grained limestone, occurring as single ledge without shale partings, and containing banded algae and a few fusulinids and brachiopods. Locally, as at Lawrence, oolitic layers occur at base and top of member; the upper oolite furnished types for several pelecypod species of Beede and Rodgers. Underlies Robbins shale [basal part of Lawrence shale as restricted by R.C. Moore in 1931 and 1932] and overlies Vinland shale. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Virgil).
Type locality: at eastern edge of Lawrence, on 15th St., in NE/4 sec. 5, T. 13 S., R. 20 E., [Douglas Co.], eastern KS.

Pg. 29. Haskell limestone member of Cass formation of Douglas group. In Nebraska, uppermost member of Cass formation. Overlies Little Pawnee shale member (new); underlies Robbins shale. Thickness 12 to 15 feet. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Virgil).
