Pg. 13-14. Gold Ace Limestone Member of Carrara Formation. Name proposed for the 4th from lowermost member (of 9). Present in southern Nevada and southeastern California. Is dark-gray microspar limestone deposited as lime mudstone; is thin- to medium-bedded, cliff-forming, burrowed and oncolitic; contains trilobite fragments of OLENELLUS PUERTOBLANCOENSIS (Lochman) and O. HOWELLI? (Meek). Thickness 46 m at type section; ranges from <1 to 103 m. Gradationally overlies Echo Shale Member (new) and underlies with sharp contact Pyramid Shale Member (new), both of Carrara Formation. Age is Early Cambrian. (Gold Ace Limestone Member of Carrara Formation adopted by the USGS.)
Type section: exposures in canyon 0.8 km northwest of Carrara Canyon, near Gold Ace mine, Bare Mountain 15-min quadrangle, Nye Co., southern NV. Named from Gold Ace mine.
