Summary:

Type area: Escondido Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains, east central Point Dume quad, Los Angeles Co, CA. Consists of siltstone, mudstone, shale, minor interbedded sandstone turbidites, dolomitic concretions in siltstone. Thickness is 276 m. Overlies Ramera Canyon Tongue (new) (Conejo Volcanics); intertongues with Dry Canyon Sandstone Member (new) (Calabasas Formation); underlies Latigo Canyon Breccia Member (new) (Calabasas Formation). Is middle Miocene age.
