Summary:

Type section designated as exposures near Duffey Dome, sec.16 T23N R6E, Pulga 15' quad, Plumas Co, CA. Reference section through southern part of unit is exposed along road to Bear Ranch Hill, secs.19 and 30 T23N R6E. Various lithologies, shown separately on geologic map of Pulga 15' quad, Plumas and Butte Cos, include metabasalt, metarhyolite, metatuff, quartzite and metachert, phyllite, and marble. Color varies from dark-greenish-gray to white to light-gray. Is over 400 m thick. Forms east-west-trending belt south of Bucks Lake and Grizzly plutons. In south bordered by serpentine. In east unit wraps around Granite Basin pluton. Duffey Dome Formation is believed to be of Paleozoic(?) age, younger than Franklin Canyon Formation and presumably underlies Horseshoe Bend Formation.
