Pg. 20-21. Desert Range Limestone Member of Carrara Formation. Name proposed for the uppermost member (of 9). Present in southern Nevada and southeastern California. Is thin-bedded and fossiliferous, black and orange argillaceous limestone with dolomitic partings. Thickness about 20 m but varies considerably and inconsistently. Overlies Jangle Limestone Member of Carrara Formation; gradationally underlies Bonanza King Formation. Contains species of GLOSSOPLEURA (trilobites). Age is Middle Cambrian. (Desert Range Limestone Member of Carrara Formation adopted by the USGS.)
Type locality: Desert Range, about 64 km northwest of Las Vegas, Clark Co., southern NV. Named from Desert Range.
