Summary:

Pg. 971-1009; Fig. 1 (geol. map). Chubb siltstone member of Maroon formation. Gray to red brown siltstone, argillaceous and calcareous near base, with sandstones in upper part. Is 1,827 feet thick on east side of Chubb Gulch [now Chubb Park], in sec. 16, T. 13 S., R. 77 W., for which it is named. Assigned to Permian. Conformably underlies Pony Spring siltstone member and conformably overlies Coffman conglomerate member, in Salt Creek area, Park and Chaffee Counties, central Colorado.
Type section: measured on east side of Chubb Gulch [now Chubb Park], in sec. 16, T. 13 S., R. 77 W., [Buena Vista 15-min quadrangle, near Chaffee-Park Co. line], central CO.

Summary:

Pg. 59-70. Chubb siltstone member of Maroon formation. Mentioned in discussion of some Paleozoic plants from central Colorado and their stratigraphic significance. Plants are not proof of Permian or even late Pennsylvanian age.

Summary:

Pg. 43, pls. 1, 8. Chubb siltstone member of Maroon formation. Described in South Park area where it is 1,827 feet thick at type locality. Underlies Pony Spring siltstone member; overlies Coffman conglomerate here included at top of Weber(?) formation.

Summary:

Pg. 820, 836, pls. 1, 8. Chubb siltstone member of Minturn formation. Considered a member of Minturn formation in this report [Permo-Pennsylvanian zeugogeosyncline, Colorado and New Mexico]. Underlies Pony siltstone member and overlies Coffman conglomerate here considered member of Minturn. Assumed to be Middle Pennsylvanian (Desmoinesian) because of position in section.

De Voto, R.H., 1965, Pennsylvanian and Permian stratigraphy of central Colorado: The Mountain Geologist, v. 2, no. 4, p. 209-228.

Summary:

Pg. 216, 224+ (measured sections). Chubb Member of Maroon Formation. Name modified from Chubb Siltstone Member to Chubb Member. Although the predominant lithology of the Chubb is gray, green, to red, felspathic siltstone, the member also has interbedded arkosic and feldspathic sandstone, carbonaceous shale, and a small amount of white limestone and gypsum [as described by Gould, 1935]. Thickness about 1,830 feet. Conformably underlies Pony Spring Member of Maroon Formation. Conformably overlies Coffman Formation (previously a member of Maroon or Weber? Formation). Fossils (impressions of conifer WALCHIA). Age is considered Middle Pennsylvanian (probably Des Moines), based on stratigraphic relations.
Recognized locally west of the Mosquito-Weston fault in South Park, CO.
