Type section measured 2 mi southwest of Englewood, in sec. 30 or 31, T. 4 N., R. 3 E. (Jaggar, 1904).
Reference section: at Deadwood junkyard, east side of Whitewood Creek, north of U.S. Highway 14 near its junction with U.S. Highway 85, in NE/4 SE/4 sec. 13, T. 5 N., R. 3 E., Lawrence Co., SD (Kume, 1963).
