Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:
Type section (composite): lower member in cut along west side of Reading RR tracks beginning about 1,000 ft south of crossing at Rickenbach, Berks Co., southeastern PA; upper member in southwest bank of Schuylkill River, 0.5 mi east by northeast of Epler School (Hobson, 1957).
