Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type area: on west flank and south nose of northwest-trending anticlinal structure whose axis and east flank are covered by glacial debris and alluvial deposits along lower slopes of Raging River valley, King Co., northwestern WA. Exposed on east side of Tiger Mountain, in parts of secs. 9, 10, 15 and 16, T. 23 N., R. 7 E., directly west of valley of Raging River, central King Co., northwestern WA. Named from Raging River (Vine, 1962).
