Type section: in an unnamed stream, either on the northwest[?] or the southwest[?] side of Ochoa Point, a promontory west of Basalt Canyon, northwest side of the Colorado River, eastern Grand Canyon, Vishnu Temple 15-min quadrangle, Coconino Co., AZ. Named from Ochoa Point (Stevenson and Beus, 1982).
