[Mulky Formation preempted by Mulky coal bed; an identical geographic name may not be applied to a stratigraphic unit [Mulky Formation] and its parts [Mulky coal bed] (CSN, 1933; ACSN, 1961, 1970; NACSN, 1983, 2005, 2021). "Subgroup" not recognized as a formal stratigraphic rank term (CSN, 1933; ACSN, 1961, 1970; NACSN, 1983, 2005, 2021). Cabaniss subgroup considered informal and should not be capitalized.]
