Type section: exposures in road cut in saprolite along Hill Street, north of its juncture with U.S. Highway 41/19 Business, on the north side of Ison Branch, near Griffin, Griffin South 7.5-min quadrangle, Spalding Co., GA (Higgins and others, 1988).

Piedmont-Blue Ridge province*
