Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality not designated. Mapped in vicinity of McCaslin syncline in western Marinette and northern Oconto Cos, northeastern WI (Read and Weis, 1962). Supposedly named from exposures west of High Falls Reservoir, in High Falls Reservoir 7.5-min quadrangle, Marinette Co. (see Sims, 1990).
